TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan is poised to extend the visa-unfastened software for passport holders from the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, and Russia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on Monday (June 10) introduced a move-ministerial meeting to extend the visa-loose software for citizens of the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, and Russia. However, formal approval of the results through the Cabinet remains pending. Minister without Portfolio Chang Ching-sen (張景森) informed CNA that the Cabinet wishes to extend the program. MOFA said that officials from national safety, immigration, police, investigations, tourism, economic systems, and exchange businesses are invited to discuss whether to hold the program. The assembly conducted a complete evaluation of the visa-unfastened software’s effectiveness and concluded that it must persevere.
The meeting findings might be submitted to the Cabinet for approval and published after receiving the Cabinet’s permission. Chang told CNA that the Cabinet’s purpose is to extend visa-loose treatment for the remaining 14 days to citizens of the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, and Russia for any other year. After a successful trial run of this system, MOFA, on July 12, 2018, announced that it would increase visa-loose access for the Philippines, Thailand, and Brunei for journeys of 14 days at a time for twelve months. In September of the remaining year, visa-unfastened entry becomes prolonged for Russian nationals for the remaining 14 days. Visa-free treatment for the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, and Russia will expire on July 31. Citizens of the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, and Russia are eligible for visa-free entry on the circumstance the candidates can offer the following:
1. A standard passport is legitimate for at least six months.
2. A confirmed return plane or boat ticket or a shown plane or boat price tag, together with a valid visa for an onward vacation spot.
